Have you ever just had one of those cycles where you wished you hadn't
gotten out of bed?  Well, I've felt like that my whole life, but especially lately!

It all started when I was six cycles old and my mother disappeared.  I had
no idea what was going on, but next thing I know I'm the daughter of a
traitor and am being shipped away to Chloist to be raised by the Queens
family, weird huh?  Anyway, I worked hard, got my degree in cultural
science, and was looking forward to going on digs all over the system.  I
took a dream job as an educator at the center. I mean come on!  Learning
about ancient cultures, find things that have been lost for cycles while
someone else pays?  That is my idea of perfection!

And it was perfection until my boss decided to retire.  At which point, some
idiot replaces him with the boss from Zurian.  Then the Kalhar attack the
system and I'm taken off all my current projects to head a project to look
for ancient weapons.  Like that will help!

The Kalhar attack Chloist, the planet I'm on by the way, and I get hit by a
killer vision! I had no idea what the Zurian was happening to me, but let me
tell you, visions suck!  Especially since they are visions of Taleck being
tortured by the Kalhar and I can feel, smell, and hear everything they are
feeling. And on top of everything, as if that wasn't enough, I meet this crazy
male, Zi, who semi rescues me and claims to be my mate.  WHATEVER!!!  I
don't have time for this.  Males aren't worth the trouble they cause.

All I ever wanted to do was research!  Instead I go from dream job to awful
boss, being followed by a Kalhar assassin squad with the help of a crazy
male!  It's enough to make the sanest Taleck go nuts!  On top of that I've
got these powers that are driving me crazy and I'm talking to my dead
mother in my dreams.  

This war sucks!
